We are The Mandatory Swing Band and we are reviving the spirits legendary Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli in a concert of swing and jazz à-la-Paris right here in the Middle-East!

The profiles:
Ella Daniel (vocals) - A swing & cabaret VIP in Israel. A descendant of the royal Bakixanov family of Azerbaijan and a true flame bearer of the blues, widely known in Israel as the leader of The Betty Bears, a New-Orleans dixieland band spreading the message in the holy land.
Omer Ashano (violin) - An award-winning jazz violinist, Israeli born and based in the Big Apple (yes, NYC) pre-pandemic. Although Ashano was brought up in the musical environment of swing music and Stephane Grappelli in particular, his recent music and playing is an inspiration to many contemporary jazz stringers around the world.
Aner Albukrek (upright-bass) - The low-end general of the band actually started as a violinist at the age of 9 and only later got into the upright-bass which prompted him tour around the world with groups such as The Angelcy, Folo and The Tel-Aviv Klezmer Ensemble which he founded.
Dmitry Kuptsov (guitar) - One of the biggest players in the jazz-manouche scene in Russia, Kuptsov has been mastering this guitar style for more than 15 years. Since then he has been delving into this music style and its nuances with all the meticulousness and precision anybody can possibly imagine.
Amir Gad (guitar) - A versatile player that combines gentle and deep tones with alongside gypsy virtuosity. His influences stretch between the gypsy swing worlds of Django Reinhardt, Bireli Lagrene, Angelo Debbare - to the worlds of hard bop and jazz-blues in the tradition of George Benson, Pat Martino and more.
For nearly 10 years, he has been leading the successful swing band "The Swing Kids", as part of which he has performed at many events and festivals across the country.
Mandatory Concerts
The Mandatory Swing Band have shared their HOT music in sold out events in various music clubs and music festivals across Israel, and would love to play your wedding, funeral, music venue, festival or bath house.
